The Midwife
Get to Know Jana
Born and raised in Wyoming I am a cowgirl, mother, and wife. I have been married 17 years and have 3 beautiful children as well as carried three babies for three families who could not conceive. You can usually find me with my horses, outside, or with my family.
My best friend introduced me to midwifery during my pregnancy with my last child. I had never really thought of this as my path in life, I had desperately wanted to fly helicopters in the military, but I had also always loved everything birth related and during that pregnancy I really dived into learning more about it. All of my friends, and even acquaintances, would come to me asking for advice or education on all things birth. Because of this I fell in love with midwifery and set out to pursue it. I really enjoyed empowering these women to stand their ground and go for what they wanted. The first step I took was to get my Doula license. I attended a few births during that time, but was accepted into midwifery school shortly after and decided to put my whole focus into that.
Throughout pregnancy I really focus on incorporating holistic, midwifery care which includes herbs, homeopathic remedies, supplements, acupuncture, and chiropractic care. I am certified in CPR, Neonatal Resuscitation, and phlebotomy. I am also more hands off and encourage all my clients to educate themselves on pregnancy and birth. I want them to feel empowered and in control of their own health.

I graduated from Midwives College of Utah April 2024. I attended over 50 births with My Family Birth Center. I am excited to bring the option of out of hospital birth to the Evanston and surrounding areas. I worked with some amazing midwives and am so thankful that they crossed my path.
